History of Maa Baglamukhi Temple

Located about 100 kilometers from Ujjain, the sacred Baglamukhi Temple Nalkheda is situated on the banks of the Lakhundar River. The temple holds great religious and Tantric significance. The idol of Maa Baglamukhi is believed to date back to the time of the Pandavas, as mentioned in ancient scriptures.
In the sanctum, Maa Baglamukhi is seated at the center, with Goddess Lakshmi on the right and Goddess Saraswati on the left in sacred form. According to tradition, during their exile in the Mahabharata era, the Pandavas were advised by Lord Krishna to worship Maa Baglamukhi.
Regarded as the eighth among the ten Mahavidyas, the goddess’s worship is considered highly powerful and effective. The temple is believed to be more than 500 years old and is known as an important Trishakti Siddha Peeth in India. Surrounded by sacred trees like bel, champa, amla, neem, and peepal, the temple reflects deep spiritual energy and natural beauty.
